Dossiers for biocidal active substances, registration of biocidal products, exposure and risk assessment

With the Biocidal Products Directive 98/8/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the placing on the market of biocidal products, extensive new requirements for manufacturers of biocidal substances and products, but also for the authorities, have been brought up.

Biocidal active substances have to be evaluated regarding their safety and effectiveness. For substances already on the market the current transition phase is governed by so-called review regulations.
