Acute exposure guideline levels / emission and pollution analysis
AEGL, chemical accident prevention, authorisation procedure, indoor air pollutants
Chemicals from a variety of sources occur in outdoor and indoor air. The toxicological assessment of these compounds is required both for hazardous incidents and for the authorisation of new plants. FoBiG addresses all health-related issues around air pollution:
- Derivation of "Acute exposure guideline levels“ (AEGL, see the UBA and US EPA sites for details)
- Toxicological reports within the framework of authorisation procedures and environmental impact assessment (EIA) for new facilities
- Classification of (carcinogenic) substances into emission classes of the German TA Luft
- Assessment of pollutants in outdoor air (e.g. air quality indices)
- Toxicological assessment of indoor contaminants (e.g. PCBs)
